From Troop 174 Website: "Their project was to design, plan, fundraise, and build a GaGa pit at Latimer Lane. GaGa is a game played with a ball that uses an octagonal pit with 3ft high walls. It took 4 months to complete the project." Approvals came from the principal of Latimer Lane, for allowing the project to move forward and for his help in gaining approvals needed from the school district’s business office. A lumber company was also incredibly helpful in obtaining the cedar lumber required for the project."

Old Lyme Boy Scout’s Eagle Project Benefits Rocky Neck State Park They assembled a crew of four Scouts and some of their parents to help protect beach wheelchairs from the elements. They chose the Rocky Neck project after he saw the need for the enclosure, which was affirmed when a state park employee told him it would be helpful if a Boy Scout could do the work as an Eagle project. He thought it over and decided he was the person that could take the lead on it, The project required approval from the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (CT DEEP), which took about three months. Concrete was donated as well.

Kings Island, a secluded island in the middle of the Connecticut River, has a first come-first serve campsite for paddlers. Their campsite had a need for a picnic table. A team was led to install a durable recycled plastic picnic table. It is cemented in the ground.

At Sunrise Park, there are campsites that used to have old picnic tables. There was a need to serve parkgoers. This project consisted of leading a team to install permanent picnic tables. The wood is pressure treated to protect the project for years to come. It is cemented into the ground and has 2 posts and a crossbeam, so dining flys and tarps can be affixed.

The benches at the Jesse Fowler Smith Memorial Forest were in poor condition and needed to be repaired. This project rebuilt the benches. A team was led to restore 4 wooden benches with concrete foundations.

Sunrise Park, a major town property in town, is commonly used by the town for events, day camps, scout trips, etc. As use for the property increased, and with the interest of the construction of a GaGa Ball pit, thats where the need of this project came in. I led a team to level an area, and build a custom GaGa Ball pit made of wood. This project gained district recognition.

The Town of Suffield needed picnic tables for recreational events. A team was led to assemble two (2) custom designed wooden tables. Wood was donated by a local lumber company. They are transported to many town events like concerts, fairs, etc

At Sunrise Park in Suffield, there was a growing need for a covered pavilion, specifically for events and with a spot to sit down. A team was led to install this pavilion. It is custom designed by the scout themself. The picnic tables are built into the pavilion. The pavilion is built adjacent to a fishing area, which provides convienence to people who fish. Families can also use for a picnic.

I designed, planned, and built 7 picnic tables and 5 benches out of wood at Lone Star College Montgomery. The benches and tables were built along the side of a lake behind the Sam Houston building for students and faculty to enjoy. Two of the picnic tables included 2 foot extensions on one side to accommodate wheelchairs. These were located in flatter areas around the lake with easy access. The project was accomplished via 20 workdays split between my troop’s charter organization where we cut and pre-assembled parts of the project, and the actual work site where we brought all the pieces together.
